Welcome!

  • I'm Becca Colao. I'm an ADHD coach. For me, ADHD means thinking too much and too fast. Not many people talk about this experience, so that’s what I do here.

Becca,

What a great description of living with these ADHD related hypersensitivities! Thanks for bringing awareness to this problem. Go get your iPod!

I know you wrote this post a while back, but I'm just now finding your blog. I was just diagnosed w/ ADHD (inattentive & hyperactive types) 2 weeks ago at 36 years old and I've been burning up Google ever since!

It never occurred to me that my need to have the TV and radio up only loud enough to hear it would be part of ADHD. I've always needed some type of white noise to sleep (ceiling fan or other type of fan, recording or crickets, etc.) and I find it very difficult to fall asleep when my husband has the radio on or the TV on in the living room loud enough for me to hear it in the bedroom, but other sound sensitivities never dawned on me. I'll definitely pay more attention to what irritates me now.
